Kelly Ripa Absent From 'Live' as Michael Strahan Announces His Exit (Video)

Kelly Ripa was absent from her show Live! with Kelly and Michael today (April 20), the day after it was announced that Michael Strahan would be leaving the show to head to Good Morning America full time in the fall.

Sources tell TMZ that Kelly was blindsided by the news and found out just as word was spreading to the public. She’s reportedly very embarrassed and upset that she wasn’t given a head’s up, and she may be absent for the foreseeable future.

Kelly‘s sub today is Ana Gasteyer, and Michael made the announcement official to the Live audience today. Watch below…
