Serena Williams Wins Her First Rio Olympics 2016 Match
Serena Williams makes it look easy while playing in the first round match of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games held at the Olympic Tennis Centre on Sunday (August 7) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The 34-year-old tennis pro beat out Australia’s Daria Gavrilova with a final score of 6-4, 6-2.
“I was a little nervous about that,” Serena said (via CBS) of the windy conditions. “The first set, especially, was extremely tricky, but I’m glad it kind of slowed down in the second a little bit, so I was able to produce better tennis.”
Earlier in the day, Serena was spotted leaving her hotel as she headed to the match.
