Taraji P. Henson Is 'Grateful' Mariah Carey Spent Time With 'Empire' Cast For Season 3!

Taraji P. Henson flashes a smile while speaking onstage at her Empire panel discussion held during the FOX portion of the 2016 Summer TCA Tour at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday (August 8) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

“I just look at her like I look at myself or any human. We’re always constantly learning, growing and evolving,” the 45-year-old actress expressed about her character Cookie (via E!). “You’ve got to remember, she was locked up for 17 years. She’s got a lot of catching up to do.”

It was recently announced that Mariah Carey will be heading to Empire‘s third season in the role of Kitty!

“She was great. She’s fabulous, she’s beautiful to look at,” Taraji added. “Wish I could wear a leotard like that… what Mariah brings to the music industry, she brought to the show. I’m grateful she spent time with us.”

That same evening, Taraji switched dresses for the 2016 Fox Summer TCA All-Star Party.
