'Don't Breathe' Wins Weekend Box Office With $26.1 Million!
The new horror film Don’t Breathe won the No. 1 box office spot this weekend with an impressive $26.1 million debut!
According to THR, the flick, starring Jane Levy and Dylan Minnette, will definitely be profitable for Sony’s Screen Gems and Stage 6 Film as it only cost $10 million to make.
Suicide Squad, starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, and more, fell to No. 2 with $12.1 million, for a domestic total of $282.9 million.
Taking third was Kubo and the Two Strings, which earned an additional $7.9 million, for a domestic total of $24.9 million.
Rounding out the top five were Seth Rogen‘s Sausage Party, and Miles Teller and Jonah Hill‘s new movie War Dogs, which earned $7.7 million and $7.2 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Jason Statham‘s sequel, Mechanic: Resurrection, also starring Ben Foster and Jessica Alba, debuted to $7.5 million for a seventh place finish.
Southside With You, which chronicles the romance between President Obama and the First Lady, opened to roughly $3 million.
