Purina National Dog Show 2016 - Everything You Need to Know!

The 2016 National Dog Show presented by Purina will air live at noon on Thanksgiving Day (November 24) and here is everything you need to know.

The competition will air on NBC at 12pm, right after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade wraps up. This is the same time slot the show has every year!

There are seven groups of dogs that more than 190 American Kennel Club registered breeds are assigned to. The seven groups are Terrier, Toy, Working, Sporting, Hound, Non-Sporting, and Herding. You can visit NationalDogShow.com now for a list of every breed inside the categories.

Here is how a dog can win the Best in Show prize: “A dog must first be judged the best of many dog shows of its same breed competing in the show. Some breeds have more than 100 dogs entered. The winner of the breed moves on to the group judging.”

While you are watching the show, you can get more info on the dog breeds easily if you have an Amazon Echo thanks to the “Enable Ask Purina” feature!
