Survivor's Zeke Smith Outed As Transgender By Another Contestant

Zeke Smith, a contestant on current season of Survivor: Game Changers, was outed as transgender during a shocking episode tonight.

“I’m not going quietly off this island,” contestant Jeff Varner said during the episode, knowing he was in trouble.

During tribal council, he turned to Zeke and said, “Why haven’t you told all of them you’re transgender?”

Zeke was understandably in shock. The tribe got really defensive and it was an emotional scene to watch.

“I’m not ashamed of being trans, but I didn’t want that to be my story,” Zeke told People. “I just wanted to go out on an adventure and play a great game…When you tell people you’re trans, you get two reactions: Either they look at you funny and pull back, or they go, ‘Aww, that must be so hard.’ I’m a goofy, fun-loving guy, so neither of those reactions work well for me.”

Zeke added, “I think he hoped others would believe that trans people are fraudulent…What’s great is that nobody bought it. It’s important people see he lost that fight. The message should be clear that hate will always lose.”
