Billie Lourd Honors Mother Carrie Fisher at Orlando 'Star Wars' Celebration

Billie Lourd made her first public appearance since the untimely death of her mother Carrie Fisher back in December.

The 24-year-old Scream Queens star attended a Star Wars celebration to introduce a tribute video to her late mom on Thursday (April 13) in Orlando, Florida.

“My mom used to say she never knew where Princess Leia ended and Carrie Fisher began,” Billie told the crowd (via People). “She was imperfect in many ways but her imperfections and willingness to speak about them are what made her more than perfect. My mom, like Leia, wasn’t ever afraid to speak her mind and say things that might have made most people uncomfortable.”

She added, “She taught me by her own example, that the most evolved person is seemingly a contradiction – they are both the strongest and the most vulnerable person in the room. And that was her. That is Leia.”

Billie wore an amazing custom Tom Ford gown, which was inspired by her mother’s Princess Leia costume from the original film.
