Prince's Drummer Sheila E Confirms There Will Be No Hologram During Justin Timberlake's Halftime Show
A report emerged this weekend suggesting Justin Timberlake‘s Super Bowl halftime show would feature a hologram of Prince as a tribute to the late Minneapolis based artist.
There was almost immediate backlash to the news, as Prince apparently said he never wanted to be remembered via a hologram, according to his former drummer Sheila E. “Prince told me don’t ever let anyone do a hologram of me. Not cool if this happens!,” Sheila E tweeted.
Later on in the evening, Sheila E took to Twitter to confirm she actually spoke to Justin, and there would be no hologram used.
Family, I spoke w/Justin 2nite and he shared heartfelt words of respect for Prince & the Purple fans. I look 4wrd 2 seeing what I’m sure is going 2 be a spectacular halftime show. There is no hologram.
