When Is Tom Brady Retiring? Quarterback Reveals When He'll Step Away
Tom Brady is 40 years old and still playing football at a very high level.
On the heels of his 8th Super Bowl appearance, Tom could be winning his 6th Super Bowl with the New England Patriots. He was also just awarded the 2017 season Most Valuable Player award – which goes to the player who has played the best throughout the year. He has been playing for a total of 18 seasons.
Quarterbacks do not usually play into their forties, but many believe Tom will continue playing for years.
In his Facebook documentary, Tom vs Time, Tom finally revealed his answer to his wife, Gisele Bundchen.
“Two more Super Bowls,” he said. “Two more.” This would mean, as early as 2019 (if the Patriots made it back to the Super Bowl next year), Tom could be hanging up his cleats.
“He can have as many Super Bowls as he likes,” Gisele responded.
Later in the episode, Tom added, “When the day comes when I feel like I can’t do it anymore, whether even physically, which I doubt, or more mentally that I won’t be able to, you know, give what I need to to the other parts of my life, I’ll say it’s enough. But it’s not going to be for a while, though.”
