Meet 'Superfly' Actress Andrea Londo with These 10 Fun Facts! (Exclusive)

You might not know Andrea Londo‘s name now, but get ready to see a lot more of her in the future!

The 25-year-old actress is best known for her role in season three of Netflix’s Narcos and she is starring in the upcoming Superfly remake, in theaters on June 13.

We caught up with Andrea to learn more about her and she dished some interesting details about her career thus far for these 10 Fun Facts:

1. I’ve never been to acting school or taken any classes.
2. I was born in San Diego, CA but lived in Tijuana, BC Mexico until I moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career
3. I’m a border child. I crossed the Mexican-American border everyday of my first 18 years of life to go to school. The first half of my day I spent at school in SD and the second half at home in Tijuana.
4. I lied to my parents when I moved to LA and told them I was attending USC so they’d let me take their car.
5. My first place in LA was a room I found on Craigslist for $440 a month; my first job was at Zara at the Grove, where I worked for a year and a half.

6. After a year of living in LA I got accepted to Barnard in NYC, but decided to stay in LA at Santa Monica College to continue pursuing my acting career.
7. I got fired from my last retail job. The manager told me he wished me luck in my acting career because I wasn’t a very good sales person.
8. I planned on attending UCLA in the fall of 2016. The day of my orientation was also my Narcos audition. I missed orientation to audition on the other side of town… I didn’t end up going to UCLA. I moved to Colombia to film Narcos instead.
9. I got the role of “Karnalita” in Kurt Sutter‘s Sons of Anarchy spinoff Mayans MC while I was still filming Narcos, but my schedules ended up conflicting and I had to get recast 3 days before I was scheduled to shoot the pilot. It’s been one of the hardest lessons of my acting career thus far, but only motivated me that much more.
10. Two days after Christmas my manager called me and told me Joel Silver wanted to meet me. I asked for a copy of the current Superfly script to read beforehand and went in thinking Joel would be super tough and hard to impress. I sat down and he said “Listen Andrea, I really want you to do this movie.” And I was in Atlanta a week later.
