Dolly Parton Launches Her Oscar Campaign for 'Dumplin' Song

Dolly Parton wrote original music for the new Netflix movie Dumplin’ and she’s launching a campaign to earn an Oscar nomination for it!

The legendary singer and the song’s producer Linda Perry performed the song “Girl at the Movies” at a Netflix luncheon on Monday (October 22) at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Dumplin’ star Danielle Macdonald welcomed the pair to the stage

“We’re just happy to be here because we’re actually out politicking trying to get our song heard and maybe get nominated for an award on those Oscars and all that stuff,” Dolly told the crowd (via Variety). “We’re really, really proud of this.”

Dumplin’ will be released on Netflix on November 7.
