Michelle Obama Says She 'Couldn't Get Facts Wrong' As First Lady
Michelle Obama is all smiles as she waves the audience while onstage at her Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama tour stop at the Forum on Thursday (November 15) in Inglewood, Calif.
The 45-year-old former First Lady and author was joined by Tracee Ellis Ross who introduced her as someone who is “easy to talk to, present… normal and extraordinary.”
During the conversation in support of her memoir “Becoming,” Michelle took a slight swing at President Donald Trump without mentioning him by name.
“I felt like I didn’t have room not to be right for eight years. I didn’t have the luxury to just be okay, to be inarticulate. I couldn’t make mistakes. I couldn’t get facts wrong,” Michelle expressed (via THR). “So our whole team was very conscientious. We checked the facts before we put anything in a speech, because we knew we’d get crucified if we got something wrong. That mattered to us, Barack and I, as professional people.”
