Apple Officially Turning iTunes Into Three Separate Apps

Apple is officially ending iTunes and launching three separate apps instead.

The company announced the news during the Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday (June 3).

“The future of iTunes is not one app, but three,” exec Craig Federighi said while revealing that the company will be rolling out Apple Music, Apple TV, and Apple Podcasts apps for desktop.

While iTunes became one of the most popular ways to purchase digital music during the 2000s, people are buying much less music these days because of streaming services. Apple Music counts more than 50 million subscribers these days!

iTunes used to be a place where you could also purchase movies, TV shows, books, podcasts, and apps, but those will all be sold in separate apps moving forward.
