Texas Rapper Tay-K Sentenced to 55 Years in Prison for Murder Conviction

Tay-K, the Texas-based rapper whose real name is Taymor McIntyre, will be spending a lot of time in prison after being convicted of murder and three aggravated robbery charges.

The young rapper, who was just 16-years-old at the time of the murder, stood trial as an adult. He was convicted for a 2016 home invasion in which a 21-year-old father was murdered.

Tay-K will have to serve at least half of his sentence before he is eligible for parole. He was also fined $10,000, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Back in 2017, Tay-K went viral for his song “The Race,” which was about him cutting off his ankle bracelet and fleeing house arrest ahead of a court hearing. He was captured the same day the song’s video was posted online. The song reached number 44 on the Billboard Hot 100.
