Bill Hader Reveals Finn Wolfhard Is The Reason He Stars In 'It: Chapter Two'!

Bill Hader stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night (September 3), and revealed how he scored a role in his anticipated film It: Chapter Two!

The 41-year-old Emmy-winning actor plays the grown-up version of Finn Wolfhard‘s character Richie Tozier, and apparently he was the reason he landed the role.

“So Finn, when they asked him, ‘Who do you want to play you in the sequel?’, because they all grow up, he said he wanted me to,” Bill explained. “I thought, ‘Oh, that’s sweet, and my agent sent me a little clip of him saying that, and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s nice’.

“And then, like three months later, they were like, ‘Hey, you got a meeting to meet with the director of IT.’ And I was like, ‘This Finn kid’s like super powerful. He’s like Joffrey!’,” Bill joked, referring to Game of Thrones.

Bill Hader also talked about being nominated for two 2019 Emmys for two different shows, and revealed the unorthodox way he discovered the butt-kicking little girl featured in Barry‘s acclaimed “ronny/lily” episode.
