Kim Shattuck Dead - The Muffs Singer-Songwriter Dies at 56

Kim Shattuck has sadly died.

The Muffs singer-songwriter and alt-rock star died at the age of 56, her husband Kevin Sutherland confirmed on social media on Wednesday (October 2).

Kim bravely battled ALS before her death.

“My heart is forever broken,” wrote band member Melanie Vammen.

“This morning the love of my life Kim passed peacefully in her sleep after a two year struggle with ALS. I am the man I am today because of her. She will live with all of us through her music, our shared memories and in her fierce creative spirit. I love you forever my Kimmy. Thank you for sharing your life,” her husband wrote on Instagram.

The Muffs were set to release their first album in five years, No Holiday, on October 18.
