Carol Burnett Is Seeking Temporary Guardianship of Grandson Dylan

Carol Burnett has filed papers to get full custody of her grandson, according to The Blast.

The site reports that the 87-year-old legendary comedian and actress, along with husband Brian Miller, are seeking temporary guardian over their 13-year-old grandson Dylan due to her daughter, Erin Hamilton‘s, substance abuse issues.

The files state that Carol “wants to be able to provide him with temporary care, maintenance and support.”

The comedian says, “Throughout her adult life, and since Dylan’s birth, Erin has suffered from severe substance abuse and addiction issues. In the past 19 years, Erin has been in and out of rehabilitation centers and has been institutionalized a total of eight times for a minimum of 30 days each time.”

Earlier this year, Carol called in a welfare check on Erin, and Erin was subsequently placed on a 51/50 hold for suicidality and drug use.

Carol has asked the court to grant her temporary guardianship, which will allow her and Brian to handle her grandson’s affairs.

Just recently, Carol made a rare appearance at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards and presented an award to this talk show host.
