Lili Reinhart Gets Apology from 'Seventeen' After They Published Interview with an Impersonator

Lili Reinhart has received an apology from Seventeen after the outlet published an interview with someone impersonating her.

The impersonator gave some fake details about what fans can expect in the new season of Riverdale and the quotes started spreading rapidly on social media on Friday (January 22).

Seventeen then took the article down and explained that Lili didn’t actually speak to them.

“Today, we briefly published a story with information we were lead to believe was from Lili Reinhart. However, it was brought to our attention that the person who contacted us was, in fact, an impersonator and had no connection to the Riverdale star. We want to sincerely apologize to Lili and her fans for this unfortunate situation. We reacted swiftly by removing the story from our site and regret the erroneous reporting. We take full responsibility and will be internally reviewing our editorial and fact-checking processes to ensure something like this does not happen again,” the outlet said in a statement.

Lili took to her Instagram Stories, where she shared the statement and wrote some words of her own.

She said, “For some bizarre reason, someone impersonated me in an interview with Seventeen. Nothing inappropriate was said, but those were not my words and I wanted to address it.”
