'Venom 2' Release Date Moved Again as Delta Variant Surges

Tom Hardy‘s Venom 2 has been postponed due to the recent COVID-19 surge.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage was originally supposed to hit theaters on September 24.

According to Variety, Sony has decided to push the film back by just a few weeks to October 15, 2021. The new surge of the Delta variant has caused a “decline in consumer confidence in returning to the movies,” Variety reports, and the studio must be worried about the theatrical release of the film.

Directed by Andy Serkis, the film also stars Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and more.
