'The Old Guard 2' Confirmed, See Who Is Returning & Who Opted Out of Sequel

The Old Guard will officially get a sequel on Netflix!

The movie was a massive success on Netflix, they once revealed, with 78 million views in its first four week on the streamer.

Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Veronica Ngo and Chiwetel Ejiofor will all be returning for the second film in the franchise, Variety reports.

The director of the first film, Gina Prince-Bythewood, opted not to return to direct the second.

“I love ‘The Old Guard’ and the story and characters I was honored to put into the world,” she said in a statement. “It was exciting to disrupt the genre. I have decided not to direct the sequel, but will stay on as a producer. I leave our franchise in good hands as my girl Vic Mahoney takes on this next chapter.”
