Hilarie Burton Got a Tattoo in Honor of the Late Willie Garson

Hilarie Burton is paying tribute to her late friend, Willie Garson.

The 39-year-old star opened up about her decision to get a tattoo in honor of the late Sex & The City actor, who she met while working on White Collar, in an interview with People.

“Willie was the person who took me under his wing and had lunch with me and took me out to dinner. He saw the version of me that I wasn’t yet, but that I was working toward,” she said.

Her tattoo, which she shared on her Instagram, is on her left forearm, and says in Willie‘s handwriting: “Calm down.”

“He would pay you the biggest compliment in the world, and the second you’d start to get bashful about it, he’d be like ‘Calm down, calm down.’ It was his way of forcing you to accept the compliment, because he would diffuse it, which was a lovely habit,” she recalled.

Many of Willie‘s co-stars also spoke out and expressed their grief following the news of his death.
