'Girls Planet 999' Episode 12 - Final Top 9 & Group Name Revealed!

The Girls Planet 999 debut group has just been revealed!

The South Korean girl group competition survival series, which aired new episodes weekly on Mnet, revealed a new 9-member girl group consisting of members from China, Japan, and South Korea.

99 contestants kicked off the competition, evenly split between the three territories as the K-Group, the C-Group and the J-Group. The girls were originally put into groups of 3, called “cells.”

Viewers from around the world, referred to as Planet Guardians, voted for their favorite cells and individual members by using the UNIVERSE app.

On Friday (October 22), the Top 9 contestants were revealed from the remaining final contestants, resulting in the debut group.

The final contestants performed their new song, “Shine.”

MC Yeo Jin-goo announced the girl group name, revealing it to be Kepler, stylized as Kep1er. (If you didn’t know, Johannes Kepler was a German astronomer best known for laws regarding planetary motion, which falls in line with the planet theme of the show!)
