'12 Dates of Christmas' Star Brooke Lusk Comes Out, Says a Cast Member Threatened to Out Her

Brooke Lusk, one of the contestants on the second season of 12 Dates of Christmas, has officially come out after she says a fellow cast member threatened to publicly out her.

The 27-year-old reality star opened up about her sexuality in a new interview and revealed that she dated fellow contestant Hina Sabitine for a short time after the show wrapped production.

Brooke was on the show to pursue a relationship with straight male lead Danny Escalante and she was the runner-up. Hina, who is non-binary, was on the show pursuing a relationship with the show’s lesbian female lead Amanda Grace Jenkins.

“I had a castmate insinuate, to put it lightly, that they were going to out me and I’ve had to come out to everyone in my life this week,” Brooke tearfully told DailyMailTV.

Brooke says that her relationship with Hina was her first lesbian relationship. She said about being on the show, “I was into men back then. If someone were to ask me my sexuality, I probably would have identified a straight. I am forced now to ask myself, ‘how do I identify?’ Because I’m still unsure.”

Brooke decided to come out after she says a fellow cast member threatened to out her publicly. She came out privately to friends and family last week and now is coming out publicly. Hina joined her for the interview.

She said, “I am afraid of being outed by someone else so I am doing it here and I am so grateful for this support – for Hina to join me. I ask them to join me for the moral support.”

Brooke will not be naming the cast member who threatened her. She said, “This is a devastating thing to put a human through, and I really hope they know how awful this was. I just want them to learn from this mistake and maybe just look inside and question why, why they threatened it, whether the threat was real or not.”
