Edie Falco Explains Why She Can't Watch 'The Sopranos'

Edie Falco is opening up about why she’s unable to watch The Sopranos anymore.

If you’re unaware, the 58-year-old actress starred as Carmela Soprano on the long running HBO series, which inspired a prequel movie, The Many Saints of Newark.

In a new interview, Edie admitted that she can’t watch the show at all anymore, not since the sudden death of James Gandolfini, who passed away in 2013.

In an interview with The Irish Times, Edie revealed that she and Aida Turturro, who played Janice Soprano, started to re-watch the series, but couldn’t make it past the fourth episode.

“Aida and I watched a few episodes and I said, ‘This is killing me,’” she said. “It was too fraught, and a big part of that is Jim. People die and you move on, then you see them on screen, and it is too shocking.”

If you missed it, Edie filmed a scene of The Many Saints of Newark, but something happened to it.
