Actress Alicia Witt's Parents Both Found Dead in 'Unimaginable' Tragedy

Alicia Witt, who you may recognize from the original Dune movie and her role in Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black, among dozens and dozens of other credits, has suffered an unimaginable tragedy. Both of her parents, Robert Witt, 87, and Diane Witt, 75, were found dead at home.

Alicia apparently asked a family member to check on her parents at their Worcester, Massachusetts home when she had not heard from them for several days.

“I reached out to a cousin who lives close to my parents to check on them. Sadly, the outcome was unimaginable. I ask for some privacy at this time to grieve and to wrap my head around this turn of events, and this surreal loss,” Alicia said in a statement (via the New York Post).

Police are investigating, and they released a short statement about what happened on Monday evening (December 20).

“I can confirm that police were dispatched to the residence and discovered a male and a female deceased. There were no signs of foul play. It is under investigation,” the police said. “There were no signs of carbon monoxide.”

There are reports the couple had been experiencing “furnace problems” and were using a space heater. In addition, there are reports the couple were both ill.

Our thoughts are with Alicia and her family during this incredibly difficult time. We are mourning the losses of so many this year.
