HBO Max Orders 'The Batman' Spinoff Show 'The Penguin,' Colin Farrell to Star

HBO Max has given a straight-to-series order for The Penguin, a spinoff series for Colin Farrell‘s villainous role from The Batman!

The DC universe drama will expand upon the world created by director Matt Reeves. The Batman has been a box office smash since debuting in theaters earlier this month. Robert Pattinson stars in the title role. The show will be executive produced by Colin, Matt, Dylan Clark, and Lauren LeFranc.

“Colin exploded off the screen as the Penguin in The Batman, and having the chance to thoroughly explore the inner life of that character on HBO Max is an absolute thrill. Dylan and I are so excited to work with Lauren in continuing Oz’s story as he grabs violently for power in Gotham,” Matt said in a statement.

No word yet on when the series will premiere. Another Batman spinoff show was planned and we just got a major update about it.
