Jeremy Allen White Says He Didn't Feel Like An Actor Anymore After 10 Years of 'Shameless'

Jeremy Allen White is opening up about his time on Showtime’s Shameless, which came to an end after 11 seasons on the network just last year.

In an interview with GQ, the 31-year-old The Bear actor revealed that being on a series for ten years put him in an “upsetting head space”.

Jeremy says that while he loves everything about the show: “I love Shameless so much. I love everybody that was a part of it, and the experience was incredible”; however, “I’m not sure if shows are meant to go that long.”

He explained that “there was a period where I stopped feeling like an actor and I started feeling like I was just here to do this show. It was an upsetting head space to be in.”

“When it was going to end, I was questioning: Maybe I do just exist on this show. What else is there? Am I an actor? I was definitely having a lot of doubt when I was finishing Shameless.”

Jeremy now stars in FX on Hulu’s The Bear.
