Tony Dow Is Still Alive, Despite His Representatives Allegedly Confirming His Death

Tony Dow, who famously played Wally Cleaver in the iconic series Leave It to Beaver, is not dead, despite numerous reports that surfaced online earlier today.

The 77-year-old actor’s representatives allegedly confirmed the death on Facebook, which was then picked up by the New York Times. The Times has since retracted the obituary.

The Times wrote, “An obituary of the actor Tony Dow was published in error. The Times based the confirmation of his death on a Facebook post by his representatives, which has since been deleted.”

Variety claims his representatives also confirmed Tony‘s death to them, but it appears the confirmation also might have been made in error.

This is not the first time this has happened to a celebrity. Tanya Roberts‘ death was reported in January of 2021 prematurely. Tanya unfortunately passed a few days later.
