Valerie Bertinelli Trolls Elon Musk's Blue Checkmark Plan on Twitter

All it took was changing her display name to Elon Musk for Valerie to trend and win Twitter this weekend.

By doing this, Valerie proved that Elon‘s plan for the $7.99 a month to keep a blue checkmark by names, was flawed, as most users on the platform got very confused by the tweets she was sending out with her display name as Elon.

“The blue checkmark simply meant your identity was verified. Scammers would have a harder time impersonating you,” she tweeted on Saturday, adding, “That no longer applies. Good luck out there!”

She then proceeded to make her point by tweeting hashtags like #VoteBlueToProtectYourRights and retweeting articles about the midterm elections throughout the day under Elon‘s name.

Valerie, ultimately, did change her display name back.
