Ava DuVernay Becomes The First Black Woman On A Ben & Jerry's Pint

Award-winning filmmaker Ava DuVernay is featured in Ben & Jerry’s latest pint: “Lights! Caramel! Action! directed by Ava DuVernay.”

It features vanilla ice cream (in both ice cream and almond milk based versions) with salted caramel swirls, graham cracker swirls and gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough.

The proceeds of “Lights! Caramel! Action!” will benefit Ava‘s non-profit ARRAY Alliance.

I had the opportunity to work with food scientists to create a flavor with all the ingredients that I personally love for a cause close to my heart. The new ice cream will not have a limited run and will be released in the US in January 2023.

Earlier this year Ava‘s company, Array, made headlines when they exited a deal with Spotify, and announced they would no longer be making podcasts for the company.
