Harvey Weinstein Guilty of Rape and Sexual Assault Following LA Trial

Harvey Weinstein has been found guilty of rape and sexual assault.

The disgraced film producer was convicted on three counts of the charges following his trial in Los Angeles, which concluded on Monday, December 19.

According to Variety, while Harvey was found guilty of the three counts of rape, there was a split verdict on three other counts and acquitted him of one other charge.

The jury had begun their deliberations on December 2, and it latest around 40 hours, spread across 10 days.

Harvey had been tried on seven charges: two counts of rape and five counts of sexual assault, which were based on the claims from four women from 2005 to 2013.

It’s not known was Harvey‘s sentence will be just yet. However, it will be added to his 23-year sentence he’s been serving since his first criminal trial in New York in 2020.

Ahead of the deliberations, Harvey‘s rep issued a statement over the new movie, She Said, which tells the story of how Harvey was found out and caught.
