Jean Smart Reveals She Underwent a Successful Heart Procedure While Production on 'Hacks' Pauses

Jean Smart opened up about her heart health during American Heart Month.

The 71-year-old Hacks star hopped on social media to reveal that she had undergone a successful heart procedure and to urge others to be aware of their heart health.

It was also revealed that production for the third season of the award-winning HBO Max series was on pause as she goes through recovery.

“February is American Heart Month – a time when the nation spotlights heart health, so it feels important to share with all of you that I am recovering from a recent, successful heart procedure,” Jean wrote on Instagram on Thursday (February 23).

She continued, writing “I am fortunate to have excellent professional care and support from family and friends while I continue to recuperate. Please listen to your body and talk to your doctor- I’m very glad I did!”

Variety confirmed that the third season of Hacks would be taking a break so that Jean could recover in peace.

“We are so happy that our beloved Jean Smart’s heart procedure was successful and she’s on the mend. HBO Max and UTV send their well wishes,” HBO Max and Hacks‘ production company Universal Television expressed in a statement.

We wish Jean well as she continues her recovery and are looking forward to seeing her back in action!

Jean was recently cast in another role that will have her playing Andy Samberg‘s ex.
