Shania Twain Reflects On The Cheating Scandal That Ended Her Marriage To Mutt Lange

Shania Twain is opening up about the drama that happened while her marriage to Mutt Lange was breaking up.

If you recall, Shania and Mutt, a music producer, broke up and divorced after she found out that he was cheating on her with her best friend, Marie-Ann Thiébaud.

Following their split, and Marie-Ann‘s with her own husband at that time, Frederic – Shania and Frederic fell in love and married. The couple have been together since 2011.

In a new interview, Shania reflected on that painful period in her life.

During her appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard, Shania shared that she’s no longer embarrassed by it.

She did explain that Mutt and Marie-Ann are still together though, despite them not on speaking terms.

Shania explained that they communicate via text while co-parenting their son Eja, 21.

“Mutt and I parent well together — for people who don’t talk to each other. We’ll just text,” she shared. “We both love our son so much, so we don’t play any games like that. We have the same priority; we share spaces for him. No nonsense there.””

Shania then joked about her and Marie-Ann playing “musical chairs” by swapping husbands, before revealing that she and Frederic didn’t know each other well before the scandal.

“It was a beautiful surprise,” she noted, about “how gracefully and graciously he was dealing with navigating the same pain.”

Shania then added that “everyone gets what they deserve. I got what I deserve. I got the greatest man on the planet.”
