Ryan Seacrest & Kelly Ripa Get Emotional During His Final Episode of 'Live' - Watch Now

Ryan Seacrest is saying goodbye to Live with Kelly and Ryan.

On Friday (April 14), the 48-year-old TV personality’s final episode as co-host of the ABC daytime talk show with Kelly Ripa aired, there was not a dry eye in studio.

During the episode which was previously recorded, Ryan and Kelly, 52, got emotional as they looked back on their six-year run as co-hosts.

“I just want to say a few words to you. It’s on behalf of myself and all of us — but mostly me,” Kelly shared. “This has, without question, been the fastest six years of my life. And although you and I have been friends for decades and decades, I feel like I’ve gained through this process a younger brother / oldest son.”

She continued, “I am so grateful that our success together on this show has led to us developing an even closer — yet codependent — relationship.”

Kelly then got chocked up as she compared Ryan to a “blooming onion,” adding, “You are layers upon layers of goodness, of kind, of charm, of brilliance, of authenticity and generosity. Your generosity is unmatched.”

Ryan responded to Kelly‘s sweet words with a touching tribute of his own.

“I’m a very lucky man, Kelly. I want you all to know, it’s not lost on me how fortunate I am. Fortunate to have had this seat next to you, Kel, for six years. You’re incompatible. There’s no one like you,” Ryan said.

“I’ve spent my entire career talking … but today, it’s hard to put into words how deeply I’ve appreciated being here and being with you, being invited into your homes every day to try to deliver a smile or a laugh or two,” Ryan continued. “I’m honored to be a part of this family.”

After thanking the entire Live staff, Ryan once again turned to Kelly, grabbed her hand, and said, “I so appreciate your leadership, your love, your wisdom and I really do feel like a family member and we will have that forever.”

Ryan announced back in February that he was leaving Live after co-hosting the show for six years. At the time, it was also announced that Kelly‘s husband Mark Consuelos would be joining the show as her new co-host.

Mark‘s first episode of Live with Kelly and Mark airs on Monday, April 17.
