Billy Crudup Shocked to Learn the Celeb He's Related To

You probably weren’t expecting this and we don’t think Billy Crudup was either!

The 54-year-old Emmy-winning actor appeared on the season nine finale of Finding Your Roots and he learned that he’s related to a celeb who happens to be one of his son’s idols.

The show’s host Henry Louis Gates Jr. revealed the connection to Billy, who replied, “Get out of here! Are you kidding me?”

Billy is related to Terry Crews and they have “an identical stretch of DNA on their 16th chromosomes,” according to Today.

“The evidence is inscribed on your 16th chromosome and as the brothers say on the street, ‘DNA don’t lie,’” Henry said.

“That’s incredible and the fact that the first (part) of his name is Crew, we’ve now got the Cru crew,” Billy said.

He added, “He was on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and when (my son) hears this, this will be by far the most exciting portion of this.”
