Sarah Ferguson Reveals Why She Wasn't Invited to King Charles' Coronation, Reflects on Her Role in Royal Family

Sarah Ferguson will not be attending King Charles‘ historic coronation next month. However, she doesn’t have any hard feelings.

The 63-year-old Duchess of York was formerly married to the King’s brother Prince Andrew. During an interview, she confirmed that she would not be there for the coronation.

She also explained why that decision was made.

“No I’m not [going] actually ’cause it’s a state occasion. And being divorced, I don’t think you can have it both ways,” Sarah confirmed during an appearance on Good Morning Britain

Despite that, she reflected on her relationship with the royal family, saying that she was close with the King and his wife Queen Camilla.

“I think that the great thing about this moment in time is the unity of family,” she said. “I think that Charles and Camilla are doing an exceptional job at unifying the family. And just because I’m not there on the state occasion, but in private I can be there. And that’s a lovely feeling to be part of the family. It really is. As I said, you can’t have it both ways. You mustn’t sit on the fence. You’re either one in or out, but don’t muck around.”

We’ve been keeping track of the guest list for the event, and there have been some surprises.

Sarah recently shared an update on Queen Elizabeth‘s beloved corgis, who she adopted after the Queen’s death.
