Taylor Swift Breaks Several Impressive Records as 'Speak Now (TV)' Debuts at #1 on Billboard Album Chart

Just as expected, Taylor Swift is back at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart, this time with her new album Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).

The 33-year-old singer has broken several impressive records with the release of her third re-recorded album, marking the 12th album she’s sent to the top of the chart.

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) launched at number one for the July 7 through July 13 charting week with 716,000 equivalent album units earned.

Billboard reports that 507,000 of those units were from traditional album sales, with 268,500 of those being vinyl copies.

  • Biggest Sales Week of 2023 So Far!
    Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) had the biggest sales week of the year so far and the biggest sales week since Taylor‘s own album Midnights dropped last year. The previous biggest week of the year was Morgan Wallen‘s One Thing at a Time with 501,000 units.
  • Four Albums in the Top 10!
    Not only is Speak Now (TV) at number one, Taylor also has Midnights at number five, Lover at number seven, and Folklore at number 10 this week. She is the first woman to ever have four albums in the top ten in the same week since the start of the Billboard album chart and only the second act to ever achieve the feat.
  • Biggest Launch for a Taylor’s Version Album
    Speak Now (TV) had the biggest debut for any of the re-recorded albums. Fearless (TV) debuted with 291,000 units back in early 2021 and then Red (TV) launched with 605,000 units in late 2021.
  • First Artist to Have Nine Albums with 500,000+ Sales in First Week
    Taylor is now the only artist to ever sell more than 500,000 copies in one week for nine different albums!
  • Second Largest Sales Week for Vinyl in Modern Era
    Taylor holds the record for biggest vinyl sales week in the modern era with Midnights, which sold 575,000 copies in its first week as a vinyl LP. Speak Now (TV) launched with 268,500 copies sold of the vinyl LP, which is the second biggest sales week in the modern era.
