'RHOBH' Star Erika Girardi Speaks Out About Kyle Richards & Mauricio Umansky's Separation: 'They Have Had a Very Hard Time'

Erika Girardi is sharing her thoughts on Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky‘s separation.

In a new interview with Billboard, the 52-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shut down rumors that her co-star is walking away from her husband after 27 years of marriage.

“I’m going to let Kyle really explain, but they’re not splitting,” Erika shared. “They have had a very hard time. They’ve acknowledged that.”

She continued, “I think it’s best that she, throughout this season, tells her own story.”

Erika also recalled her own split from her ex-husband Tom Girardi and the public speculation about their relationship.

“I remember when I was going through my divorce-slash-disaster scandal, there were a lot of people speaking that really didn’t know what I was going through,” she explained. “They filled in the blanks, and I don’t want to do that for her.”

“It’s been very hard and you’ll get to see that and she will be able to explain herself,” she added.

Kyle and Mauricio released a joint statement earlier this month in which they denied any rumors that they were divorcing, but admitted that their marriage had been through a “rough year.”
