Shanna Moakler Mourns Death of Her Dad, Months After Her Mom's Passing

Shanna Moakler has announced that her dad has passed away.

On Friday (August 11), the 48-year-old former Miss Universe revealed on Instagram that her dad Dr. John W. Moakler III had died, seven months after her mom Gail died in January.

“It’s with great sadness to share the passing of my dad, the only solace is knowing he is with my beautiful mother. I am so thankful I got to have as many years with my parents as I did, and to have the time I had these last weeks with him,” Shanna wrote, along with several photos of her father over the years.

“My father was an amazing husband, doctor and father he was more than anyone could ask for. I will hold tight to the incredible life both my parents provided for me and the love and strength they instilled in me,” Shanna continued. “The unwavering support at times when I didn’t deserve it. I love you dad and my world will never be the same without you in it. I appreciate all those who have reached out and sent messages of support. Godspeed.”

Shanna‘s two kids Alabama, 17, and Landon, 19, who she shares with ex Travis Barker, also mourned their grandfather’s passing on Instagram.

“With the heaviest heart.. I’m writing this message it was hard to loose [sic] both of you in one year, but today my grandpa went up to heaven, I love you very dearly, both of you! & I hope you are reunited & finally at relief.. till we meet again,” Alabama wrote.

Landon wrote, “I love you so much grandpa and now your with grandma rest in peace.”
