Olivia Rodrigo Addresses Speculation That Her New Song 'Vampire' Is About Taylor Swift

Olivia Rodrigo is speaking out about the rumors her new song “Vampire” is about Taylor Swift.

The track is the lead single for the 20-year-old performer’s upcoming album Guts and addresses a “bloodsucker, fame f–ker, bleedin’ me dry like a goddamn vampire.” Several theories have emerged as to who the song could be about, with some people suggesting it’s Olivia‘s rumored ex Zack Bia.

However, there’s also a contingent of fans who think the song could be about Taylor. While Taylor and Olivia have been friendly in the past, fans have alleged that the pair are feuding over the writing credits to Olivia‘s song “Deja Vu.”

In a new interview with The Guardian, Olivia said she was “surprised” to hear that there are rumors about “Vampire” being about Taylor - but she also didn’t deny that the song was about her.

When asked directly if Taylor was the inspiration for the song, Olivia replied: “How do I answer this?”

“I mean, I never want to say who any of my songs are about. I’ve never done that before in my career and probably won’t.”

“I think it’s better to not pigeonhole a song to being about this one thing,” she said. “I was very surprised when people thought that.”

Olivia‘s new album Guts is set to be released on Sept. 8.
