Glenn Close Stops Show to Scold Photo-Taking Audience Member

Heads up to anyone going to see Glenn Close in the Broadway musical Sunset Boulevard – put your cameras away!

The 70-year-old actress is currently reprising her role as Norma Desmond in the classic musical and she stopped the show on Wednesday (May 24) when an audience member was snapping photos during the performance.

“I’m sorry. Stop the show. Someone there is taking photos. You must know how distracting and disrespectful that is. Now, we can have a show or we can have a photo shoot,” she told the crowd, according to Page Six.

Glenn then continued the performance from the top of the song “With One Look.”

Taking photos in a Broadway theater is strictly prohibited by New York law. Patti LuPone, who originated the role in Sunset Boulevard, is famous for berating an audience member who took photos at a performance of the musical Gypsy back in 2009.
