Quvenzhane Wallis hits the stage at the 2013 NAACP Image Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Friday (February 1) in Los Angeles.

The 9-year-old Oscar-nominated Beasts of the Southern Wild actress lost the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture to Won’t Back Down‘s Viola Davis, but presenter Samuel L. Jackson decided to call her up on stage to accept the award since Viola wasn’t there!

Unfortunately, the telecast went to commercial before Quvenzhane made it to the podium, so we didn’t get to see the cute moment.

It was a spirited and inspiring show at the 2013 NAACP Image Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Friday (February 1) in Los Angeles.

The big winner of the night was Kerry Washington, who was given three awards that evening – Best Actress in a Drama Series for Scandal, Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for Django Unchained, and the President’s Award for public service.

Jamie Foxx was chosen Entertainer of the Year, Best Motion Picture went to Red Tails, and Best Drama Series went to the hit ABC show Scandal.

Tony Goldwyn, Bellamy Young, Katie Lowes, and Jeff Perry hit the red carpet at the 2013 NAACP Image Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Friday (February 1) in Los Angeles.

The Scandal co-stars picked up the award for Best Drama Series during the show’s pre-cast and their star Kerry Washington won three awards during the telecast.

Tony gave Kerry a big kiss on the cheek when he presented her with the Best Actress in a Drama Series award. Kerry also won Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for Django Unchained and the President’s Award for her humanitarian work.

Rutina Wesley and Archie Panjabi walk the red carpet at the 2013 NAACP Image Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Friday (February 1) in Los Angeles.

The ladies were both nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, Rutina for her work on True Blood and Archie for her work on The Good Wife, but they both lost to Grey’s Anatomy‘s Loretta Devine.

Rutina‘s show True Blood was up for Best Drama Series, but it lost out to Scandal.

Loretta Devine keeps it flashy while attending the 2013 NAACP Image Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Friday (February 1) in Los Angeles.

The Grey’s Anatomy actress was joined by her cast mates Sandra Oh, and Chandra Wilson.

The 45-year-old actor was nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture for his work in Django Unchained, but he lost out to Flight‘s Denzel Washington.

Don Cheadle attended the show with his wife Brigid Coulter. He picked up the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on House of Lies. Congrats!!
