Taye Diggs hits the red carpet with his girlfriend Amanza Smith Brown at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards held at The Forum on Sunday (August 24) in Inglewood, Calif.

The 43-year-old actor ran into Taylor Swift on the carpet and stopped to give her a hug hello, but made sure not to let go of Amanza‘s hand while doing so!

Taye recently chatted with E! News about his new relationship.

“She’s a great gal,” Taye said. “Working on doing the show with her with interior design and the kids. You know, she’s got two beautiful kids of her own, so it was just a really good friendship and we’re taking it from there. I’m happy.”
