This is super exciting news for Nashville fans – CMT is very close to renewing the show for a fifth season!
The beloved series was canceled by ABC after four seasons and the show’s studio, Lionsgate Television, has been shopping it around to other buyers.
Variety reports that “it looks like Nashville will be saved” by the country music network. While the ratings for Nashville weren’t up to par for ABC at the end of season four, if CMT brings in the same numbers, it will be big for the network.
It is expected that the network will announce the renewal during the CMT Awards on Wednesday night (June 8), according to TV Line.
