Jared Padelecki Talks Dean Becoming a Stars Hollow Townie

Jared Padalecki is opened up about the evolution of his Gilmore Girls fan-favorite character, Dean Forester.

The 34-year-old actor says that he went from a big city kid to a Stars Hollow townie.

“I do think very truly that maybe as I started to portray Dean more and more, they realized that my take on his character was maybe a bit more small town-y,” Jared told EW. “But I do feel like he kind of warped.”

He continued, “Moving to this very, very small town from a big city, maybe he puffed his chest a little bit, played the outsider, the badass. And then as he started to live in Stars Hollow even more, he realized that he was comfortable there and could just be himself and be a little bit more low key and didn’t have to intimidate and act like the loner James Dean-type.”

'Gilmore Girls' Creator Weighs In on Possibility of More Episodes

Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino sat down for an interview about the ending of the series, Rory’s big reveal with the last four words, and the possibility of more episodes.

“I always wanted [the story] to end in a Life Repeats Itself kind of way. The daughter following in the mother’s footsteps,” Amy told TV Line about Rory (Alexis Bledel) revealing that she is pregnant. “I always thought that was an interesting way to go, with these women who are so tied to each other and who make slightly different choices, but find themselves in interesting situations together. Because they are not like any normal mother and daughter. I wouldn’t have made her a teenage mother. But I thought [it made sense that] after college and right before she’s about to embark on her life that this would happen.”

“By the way, Rory doesn’t have to keep the baby. There are choices here that she can make. It’s just the left turn. It’s that curveball that life throws you,” Amy added.

When asked about more episodes, Amy responded, “No one is talking about that right now. We’re all very tired. I have to finish this Amazon pilot which I’m very proud of. Dan and I have been in a Gilmore cocoon for a year and a half. It’s been very intense. So we’re stepping back now. We’re happy it’s out. We’re happy we can talk about it.”

“I don’t rule anything in my life out,” she did add.

Gilmore Girls' Lauren Graham Didn't Guess the Final Four Words Correctly

Lauren Graham had her own ideas about what the big “final four words” of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life were going to be.

The 49-year-old actress admits that she was just as surprised when she found out, having guessed them wrong.

“I didn’t know what they were until halfway of filming of this,” Lauren said in an interview with On Air With Ryan Seacrest. “When I heard them, my reaction was also, ‘Wait, what? Huh?’ I thought it was going to be like, ‘Goodnight dear town!’ You know, something that was going to tie it up with a bow.”

“I love the idea that even if you’re frustrated, your imagination can take over,” Lauren added. “I was so happy with what we did and it was just an incredible experience, but I, too, was just surprised by the end.”

“They did tell me who is the father of that baby…I do know the answer, but that’s really for them to say because it’s their story,” Matt said (via Page Six) during an AOL Build Series event on Wednesday (November 30) in New York City. “If they ever want to reveal that, then they can do that.”

He added, “I don’t know if we’re going to come back and do more. I have no idea, but if we don’t, I think part of the fun is for everyone to come up with those theories and to play that out in their minds…I like that it’s just kind of left open in that way, so I’m not going to say who the father is and what it would be, whoever that may be…”

Lauren Graham's 'Gilmore Girls' TV Mom Kelly Bishop Totally Predicted Her Relationship With Peter Krause!

Lauren Graham‘s Gilmore Girls on-screen mother Kelly Bishop totally knew she would end up being with Peter Krause!

“From the start of the show, Kelly named herself my TVM, or TV mom, by which she meant she was taking her character’s role seriously, beyond the pages or sets and out into the real world,” the 49-year-old actress reveals in her new memoir, “Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything in Between)“.

“In a maternal, protective way, she found most of my boyfriends at the time lacking, and once told me I needed someone who was more my equal, like ‘that wonderful actor on Six Feet Under,’” Lauren added (via ET).

Peter, 51, starred in Six Feet Under as Nate Fisher from 2001 to 2005, before joining Lauren in Parenthood in 2010. They’ve been together ever since.

“At our age we’d probably both been through ‘showmances’ that went south and made work an uncomfortable place to be,” Lauren explains in the book. “But ultimately, our mutual wariness gave way — it just sort of happened.”

Lauren and Kelly got together with their co-stars Alexis Bledel and Scott Patterson at a special screening and Q&A panel for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life last night (November 29) at AMC Theater Time Square in New York City.

Gilmore Girls' Matt Czuchry Reacts to Those Shocking Last Four Words!

SPOILERS! Don’t continue reading if you haven’t finished Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

The last four words of the Gilmore Girls series revealed that Rory is pregnant – but does not reveal who the father could be.

“I think the intention is to keep that open,” Matt Czuchry, who plays Logan, told THR. “I think that’s [Gilmore Girls creators] Amy and Dan’s intention otherwise they would have done something differently or made it more specific. Their intention was to leave that open and put that out in the universe for fans to talk about and debate and so I’ll kind of leave that to Amy and Dan to say if they want to put anymore clarity to that. That’s not for me to say.”

“Those four words were never written in any of the scripts and I found out later in the process of filming, I think it may have been my last day of filming so I had filmed a bunch of scenes before I found out about those four words and they just pulled me over and let me know me what those four words were and I was immediately very protective of those four words. (Laughs.) And I’m thankful they never got out before fans had a chance to enjoy them,” Matt added.

The last four words are particularly mystifying among fans because Rory (Alexis Bledel) had slept with Logan (Czuchry) in the final episode. Rory also slept with a man dressed as a Wookkie, as well as (presumably) her boyfriend Paul. It’s unclear who the father is at this point, and we may never know!
