Taylor Lautner will be teaming up with director Gus Van Sant for a new indie film.

The 19-year-old actor is also set to produce the project based on a non-fiction article in The New Yorker magazine.

THR says that we’ll find out who is writing the script later this week with production kicking off in the first quarter of next year.

Back in July, Taylor, Gus, and screenwriter Dustin Lance Black met for dinner in downtown Los Angeles.

Bryce Dallas Howard meets up with director Gus Van Sant at a screening of their new movie, Restless, on Wednesday (September 14) at NYC’s Landmark Sunshine Theater.

The 30-year-old pregnant actress produced the drama, which centers around a terminally ill teenage girl (played by Mia Wasikowska) who falls for a boy who likes to attend funerals.

Bryce and Gus premiered the movie last week at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Also pictured at the screening, which was hosted by The Cinema Society with Dior Homme and GQ: Sophia Bush (wearing an A.L.C. top, Current/Elliott leather leggings, and Casadei heels), who was so moved by the movie.

“I did [cry]!!” Sophia tweeted at Jared Eng. “Like a baby. What a movie!”

At the after-party, which was held at Nur Khan‘s Electric Room at Dream Downtown Hotel, Bryce caught up with JustJared.com.

“The first few months this pregnancy was harder than the first,” she told us. “Sick all day and night! But I’ve been feeling a lot better these past couple of days.”

As for her pregnancy cravings this time around…

“Well, I’m just eating what I can keep down,” Bryce continued. “So, lots of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!”

FYI: Sophia finished off her look with a Dior bag and a Falling Whistles necklace.

Taylor Lautner grabs a bite to eat with an Oscar-nominated duo at Italian eatery Bottega Louie in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday (July 13).

The 19-year-old Abduction action star dined with 2008′s Milk director Gus Van Sant and Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, who won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay in 2009. Looks like these three have an exciting film project in the works!

Abduction, which co-stars rising actress Lily Collins, is due out in theaters on September 23.

James Franco and his Milk director Gus Van Sant attend the opening of their art show, Unfinished, at the Gagosian Gallery on Friday (February 25) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Also attending the event: Adrien Brody and China Chow, whom he previously dated back in 2008.

Later in the evening, James, 32, celebrated a sneak preview of his super secret new bar, The Writer’s Room, held inside supperclub Los Angeles.

James will be returning to The Writer’s Room on Sunday, where he’ll have his Oscar after party after co-hosting the award show with Anne Hathaway!
