Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, and their six-year-old twins Harper and Gideon always have the cutest family costumes on Halloween!

The family has always kept fans apprised of their Halloween costume themes on October 31 on Instagram, dating back to 2013 when the kids were three years old.

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka‘s twins encountered some leprechauns on St. Patrick’s Day!

Gideon and Harper – both six-years-old – woke up on the Irish holiday (March 17) to discover that their house was turned upside down by some sneaky leprechauns.

Neil took to his Instagram the night before St. Patrick’s Day to share some videos of Gideon and Harper leaving gifts around for the leprechauns in hopes that they would gain guardianship of one in the morning.

“What the flip?!? The Leprechauns trashed our house. Gideon and Harper were far from pleased by all this Irish mischief. Toilet paper everywhere. Cushions upended. Dining room chairs in a pile. iPad taped to the chandelier. Whiskey drank. The rapscallions wrote their response to the kids’ video in potatoes. See for yourself! #begosh #begorrah,” Neil captioned the below post of what the Burtka-Harris household looked like on St. Patrick’s Day morning.

Neil Patrick Harris is spilling on what his kids thought of his role in A Series of Unfortunate Events!

The 43-year-old actor explained that his six-year-old twins Harper and Gideon got to see the show before its premiere and approved!

“They loved it. They thought it was silly,” Neil E! News.

He added, “It’s dark. They were a little freaked out at times, but just when it gets too dark, it gets silly again. So for kids who are six and up, they were a little spooked and then got a big laugh right afterwards.”

Neil also explained what the twins thought of his dramatic costumes in the series, saying, “They laughed, they thought it was just strange. I think it’s important to not just show up as a different person, but to let them know that I’m going to be doing this and it’s going to involve a lot of physical changes and then show them pictures of the stages of the changes, so by the time they see and interact with me as someone else, it’s not too bizarre, they’ve seen the process.”

Neil Patrick Harris doesn’t think the cast of Hamilton should have to apologize for reading a poignant letter to Vice President-elect Mike Pence at a performance over the weekend.

Donald Trump says that the cast was rude and has demanded an apology twice on behalf of the VP-elect.

“When you’re in the political spectrum and you go around on purpose proclaiming things, then karmically you may have to observe people who represent the things he’s against,” Neil expressed while attending the Cinema Society screening of Moana with his hubby David Burtka and their twins Gideon and Harper on Sunday (November 20) in New York City.

“I didn’t find what was said [by the Hamilton cast] at all offensive or mean,” Neil added (via Vulture). “In fact, their quieting people’s boos and their thinking about ways to articulate themselves effectively is a much different engagement than if they were just insulting someone. I know that Lin and that cast are intelligent and respectful and use their words with great intention. And so I think what was said was effective. I do worry about a President-Elect demanding an apology from people speaking their opinions.”

Also in attendance at the screening was Malin Akerman, Liev Schreiber and his two sons Alexander “Sasha”, 9, and Samuel, 7, Jason Biggs, his wife Jenny Mollen and their son Sid, Michael Kelly, Peter Hermann and his son Andrew, and Josh Lucas with his wife Jessica and their son Noah.

Neil Patrick Harris just shared a photo of his twins with hubby David Burtka, Gideon and Harper, on their first day of school!

“Kindergarten fits these two well. #firstdayofschool,” the 43-year-old actor captioned the photo of the five-year-old twins on Instagram. They’re too cute!

On Tuesday (September 6), Neil and David celebrated their two year anniversary!

“Two years ago, @dbelicious and I got hitched. Best. Decision. Ever,” Neil wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of the pair as his iPhone lock screen wallpaper. Happy belated anniversary to David and Neil!

Neil Patrick Harris spent his New Year’s Eve this year at home with his family and he shared the adorable moments with fans on Instagram!

“Hope your 2016 is epic,” the 42-year-old actor captioned a photo of his five-year-old twins Harper and Gideon wearing 2016 glasses.

“Awww, yeah! We are going buck wild tonight! (delicious dinner by @dbelicious),” Neil captioned a photo of the family around the table. His husband David Burtka cooked the meal that night!

Neil also shared the below video of the kids counting down to the New Year.

Neil Patrick Harris holds up some creepy portraits of his five-year-old twins Gideon and Harper while celebrating Christmas on Friday (December 25) in New York City.

“Two of my top three gifts today. My children + Haunted Mansion = squee!” the 42-year-old actor captioned the video on Instagram. The portraits feature the kids transforming from humans to skeletons when the angle is changed!

Neil also shared videos of the kids opening up some of their favorite gifts, as well as a photo of his husband David Burtka holding one of his gifts in front of the Christmas tree.
