Dwayne Johnson is all smiles on the red carpet at the premiere of Hobbs & Shaw on Saturday (July 13) at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Calif.

The 47-year-old actor looked handsome in a brown suit as he was joined at the premiere by co-star Idris Elba, who brought along wife Sabrina Dhowre and daughter Isan Elba.

Fellow co-stars at the event were Vanessa Kirby and Eiza Gonzalez while guests included Lindsey Vonn and boyfriend PK Subban.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is nearly here!

The forthcoming stand-alone movie from the Fast & Furious franchise released a final trailer on Friday (June 28).

The movie stars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in their roles as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw.

Ever since hulking lawman Hobbs (Johnson), a loyal agent of America’s Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw (Statham), a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015’s Furious 7, the duo have swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down. But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton (Idris Elba) gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever — and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent (Vanessa Kirby), who just happens to be Shaw’s sister — these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves.

Here’s what the Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw stars had to say…

Jason Statham, on his character Shaw: “I think Shaw was sort of misunderstood when he first came on to the screen in the early Fast & Furiouses, and as we start to unravel what he’s all about, we come to understand that he really isn’t a villain. But you don’t need to get on the wrong side of him. He’s very resourceful, and he’s quite an intense character.”

Dwayne Johnson, on his character Hobbs: “The other movies were great, and I loved creating the character of Hobbs. Eventually, for me personally, I needed more juice. I needed to sink my teeth into something that allowed the character to grow and expand and showcase more layers.”

Idris Elba, on his character Brixton: “I’ve been a fan of the Fast & Furious franchise, as is everyone. It’s sort of the ultimate escapism. And I love cars. I’m a bit of a motorhead. And then, of course, I get to play this really complex bad guy. You kind of almost want to like him, but he’s on the wrong side of the law all the time. For me, the most complex [character] to play is someone that’s hideous and violent but has qualities that make you go, ‘Oh! He could be a nice guy if only he wouldn’t shoot so many people!’”
