The 29-year-old YouTuber and beauty influencer posted a video showing off her Halloween costume on Saturday night (October 26) on her Instagram.
The outfit features the words “CANCELED” and “SHE’S CANCELED” written in red all over, complete with fake blood.
Back in the summer, Jaclyn was met with heavy backlash on social media for her newly launched cosmetics line, Jaclyn Cosmetics, after some customers found questionable contents in their lipstick products.
She later announced she’d be refunding every customer, deactivated her social media accounts and later returned in late July, assuring fans she would be working with a new cosmetics lab and a new team moving forward.
She had originally deactivated her social media due to backlash for her newly launched cosmetics line after customers found questionable contamination in their lipstick products. In her return video, she explained that she’s working with a new team and a new lab.
“Thank you for being so kind to me through my hardships, loving me through my tough times & always giving me so much support. My life wouldn’t be the same without you.💓 New video is coming soon!💕,” she wrote on her Instagram.
Jaclyn kicked off the video by saying, “This video might be the biggest mistake of my career.”
“The purpose of today’s video is just to get on here and to try and get myself back into a mental headspace. Where I can get back to doing what I love, which is makeup tutorials…it’s one of my strongest passions. That along with developing makeup,” Jaclyn said in the video.
“I completely failed [at my launch]. I say everyday…and I still choke on those words. My launch was a failure…I spent so much time working on that brand. I was so excited, I was so confident,” Jaclyn added.
Jaclyn thanked fans for their support, but didn’t directly address any health speculation that had been floating around about the safety of the lip line.
Jaclyn Hill is backing away from the Internet amid controversy.
The 28-year-old YouTuber deactived her Twitter and Instagram accounts over the weekend amid backlash regarding the safety of the lipsticks in her newly launched Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics line.
After some customers began coming forward sharing curious findings in their lipstick tubes, including one YouTuber who seemingly found metal in her lipstick, Jaclyn uploaded a video on her Instagram Story in late June notifying customers that she would be issuing a refund to everyone who purchased the lipsticks.
At the same time, her mother posted an update for worried fans on her own Instagram.
“I want to thank each and every one of you for your wonderful messages, thoughts and prayers for Jaclyn during this time. As her Mom it has been heartbreaking in so many ways. It was difficult and so very disappointing enough that some of her lipsticks had issues but the onslaught of hate, lies and even betrayal has by far been the worse part…thank you for having faith in her and forgiving her. Please know that Jaclyn needs time but she will be back stronger than ever! She is surrounded by love and support and she will get through this! She will dust herself off, learn from her mistakes and try again. After all…she has a dream to fulfill and as long as I have breath in my body I will always be her cheerleader!” she wrote.
Jaclyn Hill is reacting to heavy criticism and speculation regarding the safety of her newly launched cosmetics line, Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics.
When some customers began questioning the contents of her lipsticks, including what appeared to be loose fibers and holes, she posted a video on her YouTube providing her side of the story on June 12.
After even more customers came forward with their findings, including one YouTuber who seemingly found metal in her lipstick, Jaclyn uploaded a video on her Instagram Story on Saturday night (June 22) further discussing the issue, admitting that her first video made her “cringe.”
“I felt so much pressure and panic to get a video up…I just wanted to defend my brand so bad,” she said in her Story.
“At this point, I have sent out my lipsticks to five different labs that test product vigorously. I have spent over $100,000 on this process,” she explained.
“It sucks, and I’m so disappointed in myself,” she began to say before getting emotional and stopping the video.
“Long story short, the lab that I worked with, I will never be working with again obviously. There’s been many people fired over this. We’ve got an entire new team we are building for quality control, because obviously that didn’t work.”
She also revealed that every customer will be receiving a refund of their order, regardless of whether they ask for one.
“I have made the decision to give every single person who purchased one of my lipsticks a full refund. I think that’s the best thing I can do at this point…there’s a lot of people out there who love their lipsticks, and that’s great, but I don’t care,” she said.
“I’m going to be issuing a full refund, including shipping and tax, to every single customer from Jaclyn Cosmetics…I don’t care about the loss of this money…you know how embarrassing this is for me. I will do everything in my power to make this right moving forward and learn from this lesson God has given me.”
YouTuber Jaclyn Hill is facing backlash over her new beauty line Jaclyn Cosmetics after fans saw what they believed to be mold on the lipsticks, among other issues. Now, Jaclyn is speaking out about the allegations.
“I want to address some of the issues that my customers are having with my first launch of my brand, Jaclyn Cosmetics, and my lipsticks,” Jaclyn said in a new video. “I’m not gonna run away from this. I know it’s taken me a couple days to get all my ducks in a row and get this video out for you guys, but I have been going through all the documentation, and on the phone with labs and chemists and the owner of my lab and my entire team for several days, and doing a very in-depth investigation to figure out exactly what’s going on so I can give you the most informed information as a brand owner.”
“The first thing I want to address before anything else is the accusations that my lipsticks are expired, moldy or hazardous in any way, shape or form. My lipsticks are not moldy, they are not contaminated, they are not unsafe for you in any way shape or form. Every single ingredient in my lipsticks is new and FDA approved,” she said.
First, she addressed why some fans are seeing black dots on their products.
“What these black dots are, are actually oxygen bubbles and they are lifting to the surface when my lipstick bullet is being cooled off from a hot temp,” she continued. “Sometimes they don’t make it all the way through — it is oxygen and 100% safe.”
She also addressed some fans seeing white “fuzzies” on the lipsticks.
“My lab used white cotton gloves…they were cleaning vats with a towel. Those two things combined with the white fuzzies coming off of their gloves — it is so unacceptable,” Jaclyn continued.
“This is my first launch, and it’s very embarrassing,” Jaclyn added that she’ll be offering refunds or re-sending new products to those dissatisfied. “Contact [email protected]… show them proof, we will take care of everything for you and make it right.”

The 28-year-old YouTuber just launched her own beauty line Jaclyn Cosmetics with a range of 20 lipsticks which nearly all sold out immediately, and she’s already been met with criticism regarding the products.
While some customers complained that the products arrived damaged or broken, others questioned the actual contents of the lipstick.
In a video called “THE TRUTH ABOUT JACLYN HILL COSMETICS LIPSTICKS,” fellow YouTuber RawBeautyKristi used a microscope and found “hairs, beads, and pitting” in the product.
“When i was unboxing and looking at each of the lipsticks, I noticed that what people were saying was true, that there were some issues with the outer appearance of the actual lipstick themselves. Upon further inspection, I noticed fibers, hairs, beads, and pitting in a bunch of the lipsticks. I decided to put them under a microscope to see what everything looked like up close, and I was SHOCKED,” she wrote.
“I KNOW this is FAR too in depth, trust me, I don’t ever want to be the person to go THIS in depth with LIPSTICKS. But because of the amount of complaints that I have seen, and confirming the quality (or lack there of) with my own personal lipsticks, I thought it would be good to just say ‘whatever, lets do this’ and go SUPER nitty gritty into the formula of these.”
“I do NOT think that Jaclyn was aware of the quality of these before them going out, I think that these lipsticks are either OLD OR the lab has ZERO quality control and that they are contaminated (which is what I truly think happened) I really feel like the lab did Jaclyn dirty. I think they released less than poor quality products and now she and her brands reputation are paying the price,” she added.
“If any of you are receiving lipsticks like this…. please know that this is NOT hair! My factory used brand new white gloves to do quality control & they shed all over my product!😡 We switched to rubber gloves 2 days ago & will make sure this never happens again,” Jaclyn said in response to RawBeautyKristi on Twitter.
