Idris Elba and his girlfriend Naiyana Garth have just welcomed a beautiful baby boy named Winston Elba into the world!

“My Son Winston Elba was born yesterday,” the 41-year-old actor shared on his Twitter account on Friday (April 18), along with a picture of the newborn baby and his hands. “Truly Amazing :-)”

This is Idris and Naiyana‘s first child together, he is also a father to daughter Isan, from a previous relationship.

The 41-year-old actor was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his work in the movie Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

Idris was up against 12 Years a Slave‘s Chiwetel Ejiofor, Dallas Buyers Club‘s Matthew McConaughey, Captain Phillips‘ Tom Hanks, and All is Lost‘s Robert Redford. The award ultimately went to Matthew.

“Tonight isn’t about winning, it’s about the recognition of a winner. Nelson Mandela. Never forget,” Idris tweeted.
